Derrick's Tea Room & Shop

Derrick's Tea Room & Shop

When Derrick’s first opened its doors as a Tea Room, it was in the early 1900s. Now, over a 100 years later it is proudly owned and run by Simon & Bonnie Cooze. Derrick’s Tea Room is nestled in the idyllic Cheddar Gorge, below the famous Lion Rock, in what was once three stone masons cottages and also Cheddar’s original cheese shop.

When first setting foot onto the flag stone flooring in this friendly and welcoming Tea Room visitors can feel this history beneath their feet whilst savouring the aroma of fresh and wholesome home cooked food being prepared and see other customers relaxing and listening to music, surrounded by nostalgic pictures which depict "Derrick’s" and Cheddar Gorge through the years and Simon & Bonnie’s huge collection of Tea Pots.
