The stunningly contemporary and sophisticated Wellington Lounge is set on the ground floor and the perfect place to indulge and enjoy a delicious Afternoon Tea menu that cleverly changes with the seasons and proudly showcases the best of British produce. The Wellington Lounge offers its guests great style, wonderful foods and teas combined with comfort and excellent, knowledgeable service. Visitors will not be disappointed! Children are welcomed.

Executive Chef, Paul Bates has created a very special Afternoon Tea menu accompanied by a Tea menu which includes both the traditional well loved tea blends such as Assam, Darjeeling and Earl Grey and the newer Chinese black teas, White Teas and Teas infused with flowers! The Tea Menu also features The Wellington Tea Blend, the hotel’s very own bespoke tea, created especially to celebrate Afternoon Tea at The Intercontinental Park Lane.

The Wellington Lounge Afternoon Tea

The Sandwiches:

  • Speyside smoked salmon, cucumber linguini and Sevruga caviar
  • Rare roasted sirloin of beef, Piccalilli, chives and horseradish
  • Steamed Devon red chicken, hen egg mayonnaise and baby red stalk sorrel
  • West coast Scottish lobster, shrimps, olive oil tomato emulsion

The Scones:

The Pastries:

A tempting selection of dainty delights are served including:

  • Vanilla and white chocolate cream
  • Profiterole
  • Mango tranche, with blackberry cream
  • Dark chocolate torte
  • Preserved fruit infused madeira cake

The Tea Menu:

The Tea Menu offers a selection of the finest teas available, both traditional and new blends, and are beautifully and clearly described from which guests can choose their favourite tea. The staff in The Wellington Lounge are delighted to help and advise guests with their choice of teas.

The Menu:

Cardamom and vanilla infused champagne
Botanical pear pearl drop

The Sandwiches:

Free range guinea fowl with crisp celeriac; Smoked eel, horseradish, cucumber and apple relish; Nettle marinated asparagus rolled in Sirloin of beef; Scottish lobster and shrimp with Sevruga caviar and fresh dill

The Scones:

Citrus peel and butter milk scones with strawberry jam, quince preserve and Devon clotted cream

The Pastries:

Mancha green tea bavarois with red peach jelly; Mandarin tart; Coconut and fennel white chocolate torte; Blueberry crème brûlée macaroon

The Teas:

Enjoy this delicious Afternoon Tea with your choice from the tea menu of finest teas. Especially recommended are the following teas which will complement The Botanical Afternoon Tea perfectly: The Wellington Blend which is a black tea; White Peony a white tea and Sencha Fukuyu a green tea.

The Royal Tea

(Avaliable from 1 April 2012)

Launching in April, Royal-Tea honours its location on the site of the former royal residence with a dainty selection of pretty English classics that are fit for a Queen. Just in time for the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee celebrations, Royal-Tea will present long-time favourites created with a selection of British ingredients.

The Menu:

The Sandwiches

  • Honey roasted ham, with English mustard
  • Speyside smoked salmon, cucumber, lemon and black pepper
  • Free range chicken coronation, mango and coriander cress
  • Scottish lobster with shrimps and Sevruga caviar
  • Hen egg and cress in carrot bread

The Scones

Sultana and butter milk scones with Devon clotted cream and strawberry preserve

The Pastries

  • Marzipan wrapped Battenberg cake
  • Coffee mousse and walnut torte
  • Queen Victoria sponge with vanilla cream and strawberry jelly
  • Raspberry Eton mess shortbread

Saturday & Sunday: 2 sittings 1.30pm - 3.30pm & 4.00pm - 6.00pm.
