Loopy Lorna’s Tea House is located in the Church Hill Theatre in the popular Edinburgh residential area of Morningside and is named in tribute after its owner, Gaynor Salisbury’s, late mother who was called Lorna and who firmly believed that tea was the best drink of the day and in whose house there were endless cups of tea and racks of home baking waiting to be devoured!

All food, in this award winning tea room, is made in the tiny kitchen by Award Winning Chef, Michelle, and her team using ingredients sourced from the most reputable suppliers and they aim to provide the very best in quality loose leaf teas and delicious foods including cakes that customers can see being baked!  Family and traditional recipes and the cakes are made with the love and care that only true cake fanatics can give.
Scrummy breakfasts, light meals, soups, sandwiches and of course traditional afternoon teas also feature on the selective menu.

Enjoy a Pot of Tea with a freshly baked warm scone served with home-made preserve and Clotted Cream.

Loopy's Cornish Cream Tea

Two home-made scones fresh from the oven are served with a generous dollop of Cornish Clotted Cream and home-made preserve and served with a pot of tea from the Main Tea Menu or from The Speciality Tea Menu.

Loopy's Strawberry Cream Tea (available when in season)

Two home-made scones fresh from the oven are served with a generous dollop of Cornish Clotted Cream and home-made preserve and complemented with the very best of Scottish Strawberries and with a pot of tea from the Main Tea Menu or from The Speciality Tea Menu.

The Traditional Afternoon Tea

Loopy Lorna’s Tea House’s acclaimed Afternoon Teas offer their visitors a selection of dainty sandwiches including; Scotch Reserve Smoked Salmon and a hint of Freshly Squeezed Lemon; Pastrami & Horseradish and Free-range Egg Mayonnaise with Freshly Chopped Chives followed with warm home-made, melt in the mouth, scones served with home-made preserve and lashings of Cornish Clotted Cream. A selection of delicious home-baking treats such as, Cup Cakes, Tiffin, Meringues with Strawberry, Mixed Berry Pavlova, Chocolate Malteser Cake and Toffee/Coconut Millionaire’s Shortbread are then served.  Loopy Lorna’s Afternoon Tea is served on a beautiful traditional tea stand and accompanied with your choice of superb tea from the expertly chosen tea menus.

Loopy Lorna’s offer their guests tea served in either small pots which serve 1-2 or in large pots serving 2-4. Gaynor hopes to offer her customers a sensory journey through the world of tea by having a tea menu which includes top quality familiar teas and rare and unusual teas. 
Choose from the well chosen and carefully described Tea Menu, with all teas having been specially blended and which include the following varieties; Loopy Lorna’s Glorious Morning Tea; Exceptional Earl Grey; “Bricks and Mortar” (a robust blend of North Indian Assam, Sri Lankan, Uva and Rwandian Black Tea), Chinese Yunnan Green Tea; Loopy’s Chinese Lapsang Souchong OR choose from Loopy’s Speciality Tea Menu such blends as Sparkling Darjeeling; Detox Heaven; Masala Chai; Chinese Bai Hao Silver Needle White Tea; Chinese Oolong Tea; Chinese Jasmine Dragon Pearl Green Tea and Hand-tied Chinese Green Tea with Amaranth, Jasmine and Lily.
 
All teas are also available to purchase and be enjoyed at home!  
 
Loopy Lorna’s Tea House is truly child-friendly, and has a really cute baby-changing room with lots of bits and bobs to make life for busy mums and dads easier. A yummy kiddies under 12 menu with healthy snacks and meals is available can be supplemented with CAKE, LOTS OF CAKE!
 
Gluten Free and Dairy Free Options are always available.
