Abbey Tea Rooms & Restaurant

Abbey Tea Rooms & Restaurant

Abbey Tea Rooms & Restaurant has been owned by Wendy and Ian since early 2004. Wendy, a qualified chef with over 30 years experience in the catering trade, has never been happier. It has always been her dream to run her own business having previously worked for large corporate companies. Ian retired early as the business took off (he has never worked so hard!), has found his true vocation running the front of house. The dream was always to work together, but this came sooner than anticipated. This is truly a family concern, their son is a Chef and has worked in the business over the past 5 years, Abbey their youngest daughter is a Waitress, and their eldest Granddaughter occasionally clears tables, 3 generations proud to provide a service.

After five years it seems that Wendy and Ian's hard work is starting to pay off. They have won several local town awards, been given 5 star food hygiene status, and are thrilled that "we are a member of the Tea Council's prestigious Tea Guild".

This traditional Tea Rooms, which is the oldest Tea Room in Tewkesbury, is steeped in history. The beautiful 15th century building is grade 11 listed and has many original features.

Tewkesbury is a beautiful medieval town with two major rivers. A friendly, well equipped town described as 'England's best kept secret'.
