Situated in Hartland, North Devon, Cheristow Lavender tea rooms overlook the family run lavender garden, with a fabulous display of lavender in the summer. The nursery specialises in growing lavender and fragrant English roses, and Michelle and her husband Eric have won awards for their lavender cordial, strawberry and lavender conserve, Cheristow cornucopia conserve and chocolate and lavender brownies. Honey made from bees cared for on the farm, is available in the shop.

Afternoon tea at Cheristow LavendarThe award winning traditional Devon tea rooms serve locally sourced produce with home grown seasonal salads, chutneys, cakes and scones, all freshly made.

Michelle bakes all the scones and delicious cakes, including coconut and lavender, coffee and walnut, fruit cake and chocolate and lavender brownies.

Cheristow Lavender make quality health and beauty products, and the shop sells their homemade preserves and cordials. Wedding Table lavender sprigs, favours, invitations and bespoke mini preserves are made to order.

By prior booking only - Served from 3.00pm - 5.30pm. Minimum 2 persons

Savoury selection (all homemade):

  • Finger sandwiches on locally made granary bread: 
smoked salmon, local ham and free range egg mayo
  • A slice of salmon quiche
  • Homemade mini meat pasty
  • Mini cheese scone

Lavender scone with clotted cream and strawberry conserve

Homemade cake selection:

  • Chocolate and lavender brownie
  • Raisin flapjack
  • Coffee and walnut cake
  • Mini meringue with cream

A pot of tea from our special selection of loose teas.

PRIOR BOOKING for this Afternoon Tea is essential. Please ring at least 3 days in advance.
Vegetarian and "gluten free" alternatives are available.

No booking necessary - Served 3.00pm - 5.30pm. Minimum 2 persons

One scone, jam and clotted cream; plus a savoury scone or Devon plate pasty slice and a pot of bagged tea for one - or - a slice of homemade cake; plus a savoury scone or Devon plate pasty slice and a pot of bagged tea for one

The Cheristow Tea Menu

  • Afternoon tea – a light blend of teas, the perfect partner to scones and jam. This is a relaxing tea to savour
  • Everyday tea – a strong, refreshing balanced tea for drinking any time of the day. (Decaf available)
  • Green tea – a light, refreshing summer afternoon tea
  • Earl Grey blue flowers – infused with natural bergamot oil and blended with cornflower petals
  • Cheristow Blue with lavender – black tea with a citrus blend and a hint of bergamot and lavender – our version of Lady Grey

Infusions specially created by Michelle are also available

 

PLEASE NOTE: Michelle can cater for gluten free or dairy free diets – please ring in advance if possible. Lunches are served between 12 noon and 2.30 pm and children are welcome and can be catered for.
