The owners of Dartmoor Tearooms & Café, Linda and George Hastings, are determined to use, whenever possible, locally sourced produce in their cosy 17th Century tearoom which is situated in the heart of the Dartmoor National Park. Moretonhampstead is an ancient moorland town regarded as “the gateway to Dartmoor”.
Stepping inside this delightful tearoom, perhaps after strolling through this lovely town or after a ramble across the stunning countryside of majestic Dartmoor, you will enjoy the old oak beams and oak seating and will receive a warm and friendly welcome from the staff before enjoying an excellent range of superb high quality home made, all made from scratch on the premises,.
The food and baking includes 3 types of artisan bread; teacakes, scones and wonderful cakes all accompanied by one of 41 carefully selected teas all beautifully described on the menu. Their Devon Honey Bread, a light textured fruit bread made using LOCAL honey has proved to be a runaway success with visitors enjoying it with a terrific pot of loose leaf tea.
