Located just below the Buttercross clock tower, De Grey's is housed behind a picturesquely-beamed bakery. Inside the tea shop you can sample a thoroughly decent brew of speciality tea, or try an iced green and mandarin tea, or perhaps wild blackberry and apple. The splendid afternoon tea consists of a sandwich, fancy cake, and fruit scone with jam and cream, or you can pick your own selection from toasted teacake, pastries, scones and buns. Light and full meals are served throughout the day; the menu includes Welsh rarebit or club sandwiches, as well as home-made lasagne, salads and baked potatoes.
