Juri's - The Olde Bakery Tea Shoppe

Iwao and Junko Miyawaki and their daughter Juri had a dream of living in the Cotswolds and so took over the Olde Bakery Tea Shoppe in December 2003. They wanted to serve traditional English-style food, but also aim to introduce a touch of Japanese flavour.

The menu offers light savoury dishes and sandwiches as well as the most amazing scones, gateaux, cakes and fruit pies baked by Juri who is a Cordon Bleu chef who worked at The Lanesborough, London and  Raymond Blanc's famous Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons during her training.

Juri's now offer their guests a range of 17 varieties of tea including English Breakfast,Earl Grey, Assam, Ceylon, Lapsang Souchon, Darjeeling, Rose Congou and the popular new Japanese speciality teas; Sencha Fukujyu, Japanese Green Tea and Matcha, which is the fine powdered green tea particularly used in the traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony and which is influenced by Zen Buddhism!

Tables are set out in the cottage style tearoom or in a two-level conservatory at the back which leads out to a very pretty patio garden where more tables and chairs are surrounded by flower beds and tubs of decorative plants.

Juri's now offer the following set afternoon teas:

Juri's Cream Tea Set:

Two hand baked scones served with preserve, clotted cream and House Blend tea. (Speciality tea is available for a small extra charge)

Juri's Afternoon Tea:

Afternoon Tea is served: Thursday to Sunday  from 3pm to 5pm

and consists of a selection of delicious finger sandwiches, hand baked scones with preserve and clotted cream followed with your choice of yummy, mouth watering cake. This afternoon tea is accompanied with your choice of Speciality Tea! Go and indulge!

Juri’s afternoon tea is available between 3pm and 5pm and can be booked until two days ahead (min 2 persons). Bookings must be confirmed the day before otherwise will be cancelled.
