Enter its portals greeted by a smart commissionaire, and head for the Palace Lounge and Bar where light meals are served during the day. Everything doesn't quite stop for tea, but you feel it would if it had to!

THE RUBENS AFTERNOON TEA:

 incorporates finger sandwiches, scones, pastries, fruit cake, and a pot of tea chosen from a range that includes Orange Pekoe, Lapsang Souchong, and that ubiquitous favourite, Earl Grey. The warm, relaxing colours and background music ensure you will be in no hurry to leave.
