The Goring

Opened in 1910 in a quiet street just around the corner from bustling Victoria Station, The legendary Goring is much loved by its many guests who, whilst in London, treat the hotel as their "home away from home" and also by Londoners who love the ambience of a calm, relaxed country house hotel in which they can discuss business or meet with their friends.

For almost a century now, four generations of the Goring family have run The Goring. Today the hotel is a bastion of quality and absolute individuality. This hotel has again been awarded 'The Tea Guild special Award of Excellence 2012' in recognition of its outstanding quality and consistently high standards in Afternoon Tea service.

The Goring AfternoonTea

Here, Afternoon Tea has become a dining experience in its own right.

Enjoy a pot of The Goring's own special Afternoon Tea blend or choose from a wide array of teas from the menu. Each and every tea served at The Goring has been tasted and selected by Jeremy Goring himself. He takes it very seriously indeed!

Start with a signature appetiser of ‘Eggs Savoury’, then start the journey up the three tiered silver stand... First to greet you is an assortment of freshly prepared finger sandwiches.

On the next tier, freshly baked home-baked scones served with Devonshire clotted cream and jams will entice you.

Finally, you will be lured into finishing off with a selection of delicate homemade pastries, such as lemon shortcake and strawberry mousse, fresh cream chocolate eclairs, Eton mess and the famous "not quite a trifle".

Turn Afternoon Tea into a celebration and add a glass of the house Champagne, Bollinger, along with strawberries and cream, by opting for the Goring Champagne Tea.

The Teas

Tea, brewed to your liking and chosen from the well described and carefully sourced tea menu. Choose from such blends as The Goring Afternoon Blend; Royal Blend; Ceylon; Assam; Lapsang Souchong; Earl Grey; Premier Darjeeling; Silver Needle White tea; Oolong; and Green Teas including Dragon Well; Organic Maojian and Jasmine Pearls.
