The Grand Tea Lounge at Turnberry Resort - NEW MEMBER

Turnberry, a truly Scottish icon,  is a five star hotel situated in a spectacular coastal setting with breathtaking views of the Isle of Arran, Ailsa Craig and the Irish Sea beyond.  When the world famous Turnberry Hotel first opened in 1906, the heart of this renowned hotel was the elegant Tea Lounge. It was here that the noted guests, freshly disembarked from the train at the hotel's own station, would savour Afternoon Tea while their servants were preparing their room.

The railway station may be long gone but Turnberry, after a major refurbishment programme, is delighted to be reviving this fine tradition more than a hundred years later. Now, as then, The Grand Tea Lounge managed by tea enthusiast, Catriona Grant, serves a truly memorable and often innovative Afternoon Tea in an atmosphere of relaxed refinement. Let the tea sommelier guide you through a choice of thirty or so teas, all perfectly brewed to order using a traditional samovar. The elegantly decorated and supremely comfortable Grand Tea Lounge also has a choice of champagne by the glass and a light menu of finger sandwiches and pastries.

Not just famous for its famous Golf Courses, where golf history has been made, and spectacular setting, Turnberry believe you will find, that in the grand Scottish tradition you will enjoy, as did those discerning Edwardians, no finer Afternoon Tea!
