The Athenaeum is just a short walk away from Green Park and Piccadilly?s and Mayfair?s elegant arcades.

The focus is on English traditions and foods and the afternoon teas served in the spectacularly pretty and intimate "Garden Room" (surely one of London's most attractive tea venues) offer touches of tradition, whimsy and creativity.

The Athenaeum Pink Afternoon Tea - This most popular of afternoon tea offers a wonderful selection of food with guests commencing with a selection of freshly prepared sandwiches which will include Scottish Smoked Salmon on Wholemeal Bread, Honey Roast Ham with Date and Onion Chutney on Onion Bread, Cucumber and Cream Cheese on Pesto Bread and Free Range Egg Mayonnaise with mustard Cress on Vegetable Bread; continuing with freshly baked Scones served with Devonshire Clotted Cream and Homemade Jam and followed with a selection of "Granny's Cakes" and these traditional cakes will include Pecan Nut, Fruit Cake, Dark Chocolate & Orange Cake and Orange and Lemon Drizzle Cakes plus other home made Pastries. To complete this fabulous repast Toasted Crumpets and Tea Cakes will be served.

The Pink Afternoon Tea will be accompanied with your choice of tea from the tea menu of carefully selected & fragrant loose leaf teas such as Jungpana (Darjeeling), Mokalbarie (Assam), Tarry Lapsang (China), Earl Grey (Darjeeling), Fancy Sencha (Japanese Green Tea), Pai Mu Tan Silver (Green Tea China), Jasmine Gold (Flavoured Green China) & Peach Blossom (Flavoured Green China).

The Athenaeum Champagne Afternoon Tea - is as above with a glass of delicious Kir Royale being included.

The Laduree Afternoon Tea - Laduree is world renowned for their tea shop in Paris and famous for their legendary macaroons and patisserie. The Athenaeum is very excited to be the ONLY hotel to work with Laduree and are now serving the ultimate indulgence of a Laduree Tea in The Garden Room.

The Laduree Afternoon Tea starts with a delicious glass of Laduree Rose Champagne, followed by a selection of sandwiches; including Scottish Smoked Salmon with Red Onion on Wholemeal Bread, Honey Roast Ham with Date and Onion Chutney on Onion Bread, Cucumber and Cream Cheese on Pesto Bread and Free Range Egg Mayonnaise with mustard Cress on Vegetable Bread; continuing with freshly baked Scones served with Devonshire Clotted Cream and Homemade Jam.

A selection of the world famous Laduree Macaroons, Toasted Crumpets and Homemade Tea Cakes will then be presented and this menu will be accompanied with your choice of Laduree Own Blend Tea, Earl Grey or Rose. This afternoon tea can also be enjoyed with a glass of Laduree Rose Champagne. 

LATEST NEWS:    The Evergreen Tea

The ‘Evergreen Tea’ is inspired by the Athenaeum’s vertical garden. Created by Patrick Blanc this stunning piece of living art is a fairytale dream, erupting with trailing tendrils and flowers, towering high above Piccadilly.

 As The Athenaeum's reputation for serving delicious afternoon teas has spread rapidly, and The Garden Room is therefore increasingly busy, we would suggest that Bookings, especially for weekends, are now absolutely essential!
