The Ritz

It's what afternoons were made for, according to London's glitzy Ritz hotel, and their invitation to tea is one that few will forget in a hurry. Afternoon Tea at The Ritz is a special treat and smart clothes are a MUST (jeans and trainers just WILL NOT do - for either gentlemen or ladies ) and gentlemen should wear a jacket and tie.

Booking is essential, up to 12 weeks in advance, slightly less during the week.

The spectacular Palm Court makes an elegant setting for the well-dressed diners, and serves fabulously Stylish AFTERNOON TEAS to match: finely cut sandwiches without a crust in sight, freshly-baked scones with jam and clotted cream, delicate pastries and a choice of the best teas available. All of this just has to be enjoyed with a flute (or two) of Champagne!

Ian Gomes is The Ritz Resident Pianist, who after having forming a successful rock band called "The Kings" and working with such musical luminaries as Frank Sinatra became resident pianist at The Ritz in 1995. Ian is the master of the international language of the piano and is renowned for playing frequently requested songs & melodies from every country across the globe. He is famously noted for his popular renditions of "puttin' on The Ritz" and "A Nightingale sang in Berkeley Square" and these have become part of the very special occasion that afternoon tea at The Ritz is deservedly famous for!

Afternoon Tea at the legendary Ritz is always a wonderful treat to be enjoyed with friends, family or with loved ones on any occasion with family and friends OR for that special romantic occasion!

AFTERNOON TEA - A Selection of freshly prepared sandwiches is offered including; Smoked Salmon; Ham; Chicken; Cucumber; Mature Cheddar Cheese; Egg Mayonnaise & Cress Bridge Roll, followed by Freshly Baked Raisin and Apple Scones with Devonshire Clotted Cream & Strawberry Preserve and after which a delicious assortment of Afternoon Tea Pastries and famous Ritz Chocolate Cake will be served.

ALL Afternoon Tea Menus are accompanied by your choice of exquisite tea from the excellent tea menu.

CELEBRATORY TEA - The menu is as above but includes a delicious Glass of Champagne.

BIRTHDAY TEA - The menu is as before but includes a delicious Glass of Champagne AND a Birthday Cake!

CHOCOLATE AFTERNOON TEA:- This menu, which has to be orered at least 48 hours in advance, offers a classic selection of sandwiches, detailed, as above, but includes a Chocolate Brioche sandwich with Praline Spread; Ritz scones with Chocolate Indulgence; Wonderful patisserie will be served thereafter and include Chocolate Macaroon with Caramel, Jivara Cream; Chocolate Tart Briselet Nougatine; Earl Grey Jivara Chantilly with Chocoilate Specules Biscuit; Chocolate Mille Feuille with Orange and Chocolate Mousse will . This afternoon tea is accompanied with Drinking Chocolate with Vanilla Chantilly or, of course, you may wish to choose a pot of delicious tea from the tea menu AND a Glass of champagne!

Tea served every day: 11.30am, 1.30pm, 3.30pm, 5.30pm, and 7.30pm
PLEASE NOTE THAT ADVANCE BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL - 6 weeks is advisable and often 12 weeks in advance for weekends.
