ESPELETTE AT THE CONNAUGHT - NEW MEMBER

One of London’s most prestigious hotels, The Connaught, in the heart of fashionable Mayfair has recently benefited from a delicate and classically styled restoration. Built in 1897 The Connaught was named The Coburg Hotel after Queen Victoria’s beloved late husband, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg. From its opening The Connaught attracted the cultural and social elite along with the “celebrities” of the era and with only having 6 General Managers since 1897 The Connaught has maintained its reputation of offering guests unmatched standards of service.

Afternoon Tea is served in “Espelette” and this wonderful carved Conservatory overlooks Carlos Place and Mount Street. Decorated in sophisticated yet welcoming tones of cream, taupe and gold with crisp white table linen, vases filled with orchids and friendly, attentive, and well informed staff, dressed elegantly in grey, visitors will not be disappointed.

Enjoy the following Afternoon Tea Menus inspired and created by The Connaught's famous Executive Chef - Helene Darroze:

Chic and Shock Afternoon Tea with Champagne:

A glass of Laurent Perrier Champagne is served followed by:

Delicate and freshly made sandwiches including Cucumber & Dill Cream; Free Range Egg with homemade Mayonnaise & Watercress; Bellota Ham & Confit Tomatoes and Smoked Salmon & Wasabi Cream.
Plain and Apricot Scones fresh from The Connaught Bakery.
Deliciously delicate and tempting Pastries including Jasmine Flower Mousse; Raspberry Tarts; Lemon Cake, Thyme Lemon Choux Paste with Strawberry Jelly; and Chocolate Macaroons to name just a few!

These delights will be accompanied by your choice of tea from the carefully selected and excellent tea menu which includes both traditional and newly fashionable teas, for example; Royal Connaught Afternoon Tea Blend, Lapsang Imperial, Imperial Earl Grey, Ceylon Orange Pekoe, Silver Needle, Yellow Buas, Caramel, Espelette Blend, Sencha Genmai Cha, French Vanilla and Paris Blend.
