Flying Fifteens

Flying Fifteens

These popular tea rooms are renowned for the quality and range of teas that are served and benefit from full waitress service and a lovely garden overlooking the beach.

All the food is home-cooked using the best ingredients, and chips are banned from the menu. Owner, Diana Knight sources her free range bacon, chicken breasts and eggs from her local butcher and other specialities include locally smoked salmon, local Suffolk smoked ham from free range pigs and, on Saturdays, fresh Cromer crab.

There are no set meals, just a terrific selection of carefully chosen teas, good choice of sandwiches, soup, omelettes, salads and cakes, with favourites such as strawberry scones, very large meringues and boozy fruitcake.

The name 'Flying Fifteens' comes from a sailing boat designed by Uffa Fox in the 1940s, 'fifteen' relating to its fifteen-foot length.

Teas, gifts and greetings cards are sold. Dogs permitted in the garden; parking close by.
