Swinton Park Hotel

Swinton Park Hotel

Built in 1695, Swinton Park is surrounded by vast stretches of parkland that includes five ornamental lakes and stunning gardens. Surrounded by rivers, reservoirs, moorland and dales, it is an impressive setting and provides opportunities for a brisk walk or a gentle stroll before taking afternoon tea in the bar, the Drawing Room or outdoors by the river.

As this is the ancestral home of the Cunliffe-Lister family, the stunningly beautiful drawing room displays portraits of family ancestors and offers luxuriously elegant sofas and armchairs in which guests are seated during tea. While taking tea outside in the fresh air, guests can watch entertaining games of croquet and the deer grazing in the parkland or simply enjoy the views of the gardens that are tended by Susan Cunliffe-Lister, owner and well-known gardener who takes pride in looking after the flowers, plants and the walled garden that is also open to visitors.
