The Black Swan Tearoom and Patisserie

The Black Swan Tearoom and Patisserie

This fabulous new Tearoom and Patisserie, which is managed by tea enthusiast Alison Souter, was opened on the 14th December 2007 by Chef and restaurateur Marco Pierre White, who said of the tearoom "It  is the jewel in the Yorkshire crown. You may walk into venues which are very modern but The Black Swan is something special"

Known for great hospitality and friendliness - possibly because of the many long-serving and dedicated members of the team. You will find a genuinely warm welcome and experience staff that are prepared to do that little bit extra.

The Tearoom is adjacent to the Black Swan Hotel which is famous not just as a hotel, but also as a landmark, dominating the market square of Helmsley, Yorkshire. A coaching inn since the 1750's, the building dates back to 1456 and a number of transformations over the centuries have given the hotel its unique character.

The Tearoom gives visitors the chance to sample over 25 exotic teas and herbal infusions from around the world, including their own specially blended Black Swan Tea, flowering Osmanthus, white jasmine pearls, silver needle, gunpowder green, Rose congou, Pearl Dew tea to name just a few.

Enjoy your choice of tea with one of the artisan cakes created by the hotel’s Head Chef & Patissier or sample a:
