Willow Tea Rooms

Willow Tea Rooms

The Willow theme of placing strikingly beautiful furniture against a calm and tasteful background works as well here as at the sister tea shop in Sauchiehall Street.

The same architect, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, was responsible for the designs at the turn of the last century, when he created a series of tea shops for Kate Cranston. Upstairs is the blue Chinese Room with small furniture, while downstairs the amazing high-backed chairs are impossible to ignore.

Tea is something of a distraction, though, with its classic afternoon selection served with a good range of fine teas. There are plenty of savoury and sweet choices throughout the day too.
